Sleep Pulse OximetersSleep pulse oximeters are designed to record pulse oximetry data (Oxygen Saturation Sp02 % and Pulse Rate) data over a period of time. The recording pulse oximeter stores the data for upload to a Windows based computer or to a app (Android / IOS).
The
Nonin recording oximeters use
nVision software (Windows PC only) to setup the oximeter for recording, uploading the data and generating oximetry reports. Patient Safety oximeters use a Windows PC program to upload data to the cloud where the reports can be accessed using any device that can access the web. The
O2Ring have apps that are compatible with Android and IOS devices.
Sleep pulse oximeters are typically used to evaluate oxygen saturation and heart rate levels to determine such conditions as sleep apnea. Oxygen desaturations (drops in SpO2 %) are common with people who suffer from sleep apnea. Heart rates are impacted during apnea events. All sleep oximeters capture the changes in heart rate for analysis.
Overnight oximetry alone is not adequate to diagnose sleep apnea but may be useful in identifying who warrant further testing.
